Two members of the Bells Appeal Committee
recently visited the Lottery grant headquarters in Cambridge to discuss a
possible Heritage Scheme grant for our bells. We were very encouraged by their
response and so are going forward with an application. To help our application,
we need to show the link between our Bells, Church and Community involvement,
not just for fund raising. Do you have any ideas of how we could make more use
of our Bells and Church in the community? Contact bbbells.appeal@gmail.com with
things you would like to see.
Several
people, both adults and children, showed an interest in learning more about
bell ringing after seeing the Charmborough Ring portable belfry at the fete.
Those who put their names forward are being invited in September to see for
themselves what is involved and to try their hand at ringing a full size
bell. All potential ringers are welcome
and if there are any more people who would like to join the growing list,
please contact bbbells.appeal@gmail.com.
Our sincere thanks to Church Care for
awarding us a grant of £2200 towards our bells and to everyone for their
individual contributions helping our fund plus pledges to reach over £23,400.
There will be a Norfolk Churches Trust
cycle ride on 10th of September. Details and forms in the church or from the
website (www.norfolkchurchestrust.org.uk/bike-ride).
We will also have a Beetle Drive and
Christmas Bingo later this year.
