We are working on a “Heritage Package” to
strengthen the link between our Bells, Church and Community as part of our
lottery application. Ideas include a new “Barnham Broom Trail”, work on the
history and archaeology of the area and various forms of entertainment
including possible re-enactments. We’re still looking for local historians to
help. Please contact bbbells.appeal@gmail.com if you would like to get
involved.
Following the recent structural survey, we
were able to toll one of the bells at the funeral of Ken Cranefield, a WW2
pilot officer who was awarded a DFC for bravery and valour while attempting to
drop supplies to UK forces in Arnhem in 1944.
Our thanks once again to everyone for your
continued support. Our fund plus pledges has now reached almost £26,800.
Despite being up against the Great British Bake Off final, our Beetle Drive
still managed to raise a small profit.
Do please come and join us at our next fund
raising event. We have a Christmas Bingo Evening on Saturday 3rd
December at Barnham Broom Village Hall. No need to book in advance, just turn
up on the night.
