A two minutes silence
was observed at 11am, followed by the reading, "Cry for Peace", read
by the Tower Captain, Jill Tinsey, after which the restored Tenor bell chimed
75 times, rung by Ben Curtis. Ben was the last person to ring our bells before
they were lowered and taken away for restoration. He also rang our bells using
the restored Ellacombe chimes on the evening of 8 May 2020 to mark the 75th
anniversary of VE Day.
With thanks to Ben and
his family for the video of the full 75 chimes
