MAY 2017 UPDATE

Thank you to all who organised, participated in and supported the very enjoyable concert by the D’Capo choir, Barnham Broom School choir and the Windmill Handbell Ringers at Carleton Forehoe Church on Friday 19th May.  We are very grateful to receive £500 towards our Bells Appeal from the event.

This, together with our hugely successful Golf and Bridge day has brought our fund plus pledges to just over £40,000.

As part of our application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, we need to show that our Community fully supports our Bells Appeal. Over the last couple of weeks, several volunteers have been round the village gathering this evidence in the form of signatures. Our thanks to all who have responded so far, either with their signature on the day or by dropping the signed form back to the Barnham Broom shop. If you still have your form, please do sign it and drop it back to the shop.

Thank you all once again for your continued support.
We hope to see you at our next event, which is Afternoon Tea & Open Garden at Home Farm on Saturday 1st July.

Golf Day – thank you

On Tuesday 25th April a Charity Golf Day took place at the Barnham Broom Golf Club.  On the same afternoon a Ladies Charity Bridge event took place in the village hall, both in support of the Barnham Broom Church Bells Restoration Appeal.

The day got off to an anxious start as snowflakes, driven by a cold northerly wind, descended over the course.  Happily and perhaps with some Divine intervention, the sun broke through as the players set out and remained with us until mid-afternoon by which time all golfers had returned from their rounds.

48 players took part with varying degrees of expertise but all agreed that a thoroughly enjoyable time had been had by all and were rewarded with a two course lunch followed by an auction of prizes kindly donated by supporters of the Appeal.

At the same time, 60 ladies enjoyed over two hours of competitive Bridge, concluding with a raffle of donated prizes.  Their contribution to the appeal of over £1,400 was hugely appreciated.

The Bells Appeal Committee would like to thank the organisers, sponsors and all those who helped and contributed to the day. In particular Barnham Broom Golf Club for hosting the Golf event, Muddyboots Photography for capturing the Golf day in photographs and Barnham Broom & District WI for manning the kitchen at the Bridge event.

Our grateful thanks to all who took part in what was felt to be a very successful day, helping to raise an estimated £10,000 towards the Restoration of the Bells of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Barnham Broom.

Thank You
