There was
also a Village Carol Service with the D’Capo choir, Windmill Handbell Ringers
and the school hand chimes group.
The display showing some original parts from the
bells and pictures taken during the lowering was in place for both of these.
Articles
and pictures from the Bells on display at both the School and Village Hall have
appeared in the EDP, Dereham Times and Wymondham Mercury, as well as in the
online EDP.
The first
half of our Heritage Lottery Fund grant has been released.
As well
as helping with the first instalment of the restoration, it will also fund the
coach travel for the planned visit on Saturday 24th February to the foundry of
Whites of Appleton Ltd. Church Bellhangers in Abingdon, Oxfordshire to see
where our church bells are being repaired.
There is
still time before the Saturday 10th February deadline to register your interest
by leaving your name, details and refundable deposit at Barnham Broom Post
Office and Stores.
This trip
is open to groups of up to 6 family or friends and we hope it will be of
interest to many who have generously helped with our fund raising.
