DECEMBER 2017 UPDATE

Now you see them ...
At the end of November, our bells were lowered and taken to Oxfordshire for restoration. A team of volunteers led by Graham Clifton from Whites of Appleton Ltd. Church Bellhangers lowered the five bells over the course of two days, making good use of both the new hatches and lighting in the bell tower.
On the following day, the bells were on display both at the school and village hall, before being transported to the foundry. Richard and Jim from Gig House Films were on hand to capture the events of the three days as part of the restoration project film they are making for us.

.. now you don't
Our thanks to Graham Clifton and to the volunteers who helped lower the bells, provide and serve home-made refreshments, provide safe storage and move and transport the bells. Our thanks also to all who helped plan and organize the lowering and transfer and to those capturing it all on film and camera.

There is now a display in the church showing the lowering.

A coach trip is being planned for February to go and see the bells at the foundry.

Our grateful thanks to all who have planned, helped with and supported our fundraising events this year.  Our Christmas Bingo, quizzes, garden parties, a D’Capo concert, the Edith Cavell Evening and the hugely successful golf day and bridge afternoon together with our collection boxes have raised over £12,800 this year towards our Barnham Broom Church Bells Restoration Appeal.
